About Us – Unbiased Appliance Failure Analysis & Buyer Protection

Welcome to devicepitfalls.com. We’re the people who tell you what breaks.

Most review sites tell you what a product looks like out of the box. We tell you what it looks like after a year of heavy use—or after it fails completely.

We are a team of Three senior appliance technicians and product failure analysts with over 17 years of combined field experience. Our days are spent diagnosing failed units, tearing down sealed assemblies, and logging real-world repair data. Our nights are spent writing these findings into reports that prioritize one thing: protecting you from buying a liability.

Our Mission: Replace Marketing Claims with Engineering Reality
There is a significant gap between how a product is advertised and how it performs under actual ownership. We exist to close that gap. We do not review “features”; we analyze failure modes.

Every guide on this site is grounded in:

Field Service Records: Patterns we’ve personally observed across hundreds of service calls.

Teardown Analysis: Visual inspections of internal component quality, material thickness, and design margins.

Repair Economics: Hard data on whether fixing a broken unit makes financial sense.

Our Independence
We do not accept payment for reviews, nor do we allow manufacturers to influence our failure analyses. The findings you read are based solely on service logs, user evidence, and physical teardowns. If a product has a systemic design flaw—like a warping heating element or a “Stay On” mode that poses a fire risk—we will name it.

Why Trust Our Analysis?
Because we have no interest in selling you a product. Our interest is in helping you avoid the frustration of a short service life, the hidden costs of maintenance, and the genuine safety hazards that slip past quality control.

If you want to know how long an appliance actually lasts, what actually breaks first, and whether it’s actually worth repairing, you are in the right place.
